A natural approach to healthcare

Chiropractic care addresses the structure of the spine and its direct relationship to the function of the nervous system. Chiropractors understand that nerves are the primary regulators, controllers, and responders to stimulus, and they carefully consider nerves in the cause of physiological dysfunction, pain, and even disease.

Chiropractic bases itself upon the principle of cause and effect, or stimulus and response. The nervous system unconsciously regulates body function — thermoregulation is a prime example. Your body responds to heat stimulus by sweating to decrease core body temperature, and conversely, your body shivers to increase core body temperature in response to decreased external body temperature.

The nervous system regulates the function of the organism using “divisions” (Somatic vs. Autonomic, or Sympathetic vs. Parasympathetic) which counteract or ‘regulate’ each other — this is the biological principle known as homeostasis. Essentially, homeostasis is the tendency toward a relatively stable equilibrium between interdependent elements, especially as maintained by physiological processes. As a result, chiropractors study the nervous system intimately and leverage it to facilitate responses that favor homeostatic balance.

Recently, chiropractic care has gained popularity as a safe, cost-effective alternative to surgeries, injections, prescription medications, and even over-the-counter medications. Furthermore, chiropractic care proves highly effective in managing musculoskeletal conditions such as low back pain, neck pain, headaches, and mid back pain, and serves as a great natural alternative for stress management as well.
